Pre-moistened wipes are known by many names: disinfecting wipes, gym wipes and antibacterial wipes are the three terms commonly used. These wipes are used by applying them to various parts of the body but can also be used to clean cell phones, glasses, etc., in every case the objective being hygiene.

These are often a small piece of cotton fabric which has been pre-moistened with a liquid. The liquid that is used is either perfumed water and is used as a refresher or as an astringent, or best antibacterial wipes.A common size of the pre moistened wipes is eight inches by six inches but they can be other sizes depending on the intended use and dispensing method. Marketing methods also influence the size and packing of the wipes; if the wipes are packaged in such a way that they slip easily into a ladies handbag, then the marketing focus is convenience.

Many pre-moistened wipes are aimed at mothers with small children; the products are ideally suited for grooming and care for infants and toddlers. A perfect example is when a diaper change is in order, the wipes can be carried with the mother in a diaper bag if they are out or they are available in dispensers which can sit on the counter. With children there is no end to the uses of wipes; runny noses, wiping food off their face and hands and just plain hygiene.

These wipes are common in doctors’ offices and hospitals and are used by medical personnel who come in contact with patients who may be carrying an infection.

Many women find that pre-moistened wipes are ideal for removing make-up from the face or to mop up perspiration from any part of the body. They are also used extensively in gymnasiums and health spas, not only to wipe the individual but also to wipe down equipment between users. There are many uses for these wipes, cleaning surfaces in the home is one major use. The disinfectant used destroy many of the most common viruses which include staph, salmonella, influenza, etc.
